Simple BBQ Sweet Corn Recipe

Corn on the cob is the best bbq veggie bacuse it holds up against a flame really well. You almost can't go wrong!

Switch up the flavours in the butter if you want. Chilli, coriander, ginger and lemongrass are all fantastic flavours!

Top Tip: The tip here is to partially steam the corn before it hits the grill. You can do this easily in your microwave, stove top steamer set or electric steamer.

You can also do this on your BBQ.

Heat the first and 4th flame over medium heat.

Wrap corn cobs in foil and place them between the two flames. Close the lid and cook for about 6 mins. Unwap and continue with the recipe below.

 

How To Tie Corn Leaves and Cook Them Without Buring Them

To dress your corn cobs up a little have a go at tying leaves at the butt of the corn.

Soak the corn in cold water for about 20 minuets.

Carefully peel back the leaves from the top of the corn, folding them back on themselves as you go.

Remove most of the silks and discard.

Once you get the leaves 5cm from the butt of the corn create a kind of bubble at the base.

Give them a gentle twist togther and tie with coooking twine.

When you grill them, make sure you use the section of the BBQ closest to the outside and let the leaves hang over the edge.

 

BBQ Corn Recipe

4 cobs corn

50g butter, melted

Pepper & Salt

Small handful coriander or parsley, chopped

 

 

Peel away any scruffy leaves from the corn.

Steam corn in a steamer or microwave until just cooked, about 8 to 10 mins.

Once cooked, peel back the leaves and secure with cooking twine at the end of the cobs.

Combine butter, salt, pepper and herbs in a small bowl and use a pastry brush to generously coat the corn.

Place them on a hot BBQ and grill for a couple of minutes to charred the kernals.

Once charred, brush with remaining butter.
